From January 24-27, Orlando was filled with over 60,000 HVACR professionals who crowded the Orlando Convention Center hungry to review products and attend educational sessions. We toured the Expo and met up with some of our manufacturers who had news to share!
- Metraflex introduced the new, low pressure drop, LPD Y-Strainer. Tests showed that the new 6-inch LPD Y-strainer with the screen 50% blocked had less pressure drop than the competitive Y-strainer with a completely clean screen. That’s definitely worth looking into!
- Griswold Water Systems: GWS introduced IntegraClean 2.0 for comprehensive water treatment and solids management in a packaged system.
- AERCO International introduced not only a new brand image but also the Multi-Fuel Condensing (MFC) Hydronic Boiler. The new boiler can fire on #2 fuel oil as a back-up which makes it perfect for healthcare, military bases, emergency shelters, industrial operations and other projects.
- The Raypak booth was hopping with several hydronic boilers showing cutaways for customers. They have a huge selection for just about every size application, including the XFyre, XTherm, the Hi Delta and more.
- Axiom Industries brought out their Puropal disposable cartridges for demineralizing fill water for closed hydronic systems for the commericial, industrial and residential markets.
- Taco Comfort Systems not only had terrific in-booth demonstrations and displays, but they’re still offering AHR Expo video demonstrations and web pages about products and systems. Check out their AHR page to learn more about the 00E Series high efficiency ECM circulators, domestic hot water recirculation, iWorx Systems management, SelfSensing pumps and more.
- Heat-Timer Corporation showcased the ETV-Plus for safe, reliable regulation of domestic hot water with stainless steel electronic tempering valve and actuator, temperature monitoring control and remote communication capability.
- If you haven’t checked out Dadanco’s green-friendly Active Chilled Beams and the Inffuser™, you probably should, especially if you’re involved or interested in green building solutions.
- If you haven’t heard the news, you should now that GEA Heat Exchangers became Kelvion. The new name pays homage to Lord Kelvin, a pioneer of thermodynamics. The name may be new but their expertise and experience in plate heat exchangers, modular cooling tower and refrigeration heat exchangers remains a constant.
- Franklin Controls was on hand with their new EMS with FE Connect. Touted as “the most intelligent starter,” the EMS offers power metering, SmartStart Protection, optional BACnet or Modbus communications and an intuitive interface that allows it to integrate seamlessly with building automation systems.
It was certainly a busy few days for all HVACR professionals in Orlando. Of course, there isn’t enough space in a blog to highlight all the new products available or the solutions you may be looking for. Please let us know in the comment section below what you found at the AHR Expo! We’ll see you in Las Vegas next year!
