The Hydraulic Institute (HI) helps pump manufacturers and pump test laboratories by working with third party auditors to develop pump testing protocols with are repeatable and accurate.
Recently, Taco Comfort Solutions' pump test laboratory in Cranston, RI received approval through the HI Pump Test Lab Approval Program. Now, Taco's pump lab is approved to be a third-party tester to ensure that pumps are meeting the required standards and supporting the DOE's energy saving initiatives.
According to a Taco news announcement, John White, Jr., the Executive Chairman of Taco, Inc. said, "As the current President of HI, I've been a strong advocate for the new DOE efficiency standards along with the advancement of the complementary HI test lab approval program. It's only fitting that Taco's world-class lab be part of this program and I'm proud of our lab staff who operate it to the highest standards. A third party validation promotes fairness and transparency in the market, especially as we work toward the 2020 implementation date of the DOE's commercial & industrial pump rule.
