Metraflex isn't making anybody wait for the release of more episodes on their new mini-series. If you've missed our last blog post, Metraflex has created a new online mini-series called, "Essential Product Knowledge...From a Distance." This is where they go into the details of a specific product of theirs, in less than five minutes.
Episode Two is hosted by Metraflex's Keith Gettelfinger and discusses the details of the VaneFlex energy-saving pump connector.
Here are a few of our takeaways:
- The VaneFlex is a standard hose and braid connector with a very short face-to-face.
- It can be customized.
- The Vane is stainless steel construction and is a flow straightening vane.
- This allows you to take the turbulence and cut it out from the discharge sides.
- This allows you to take the turbulence and cut it out from the discharge sides.
- Problem: You have to have 5 to 10 pipe diameters from the discharge to the valve. Unfortunately, this never happens, making it easy for chattering and damage.
- Solution: The VaneFlex immediately straightens the flow. Therefore, you can eliminate the 5 to 10 pipe diameters, making a 9 inch overall link. This creates an efficient, compact design.
- If doesn't have to be on the discharge side, it can also function on the inland side in unique situations.
